Medical Eye Specialists is looking for a full-time patient account specialist to join our team in our ambulatory surgical center. This position is tailored to someone who thrives in a fast-paced and teamwork-oriented environment. This job consists of answering patient billing questions, interacting with insurance companies to get prior authorizations and resolve unpaid claims, posting patient and insurance payments, and billing out claims. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for insurance verification and contacting patients with out of pocket costs prior to scheduled procedures.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, able to multitask efficiently, and have excellent communication skills. You must also have exceptional attention to detail and be able to work well with others. This is an IN PERSON job in our Bozeman, MT location.

Ophthalmic Technician

An Ophthalmic Technician displays high proficiency in taking patient histories and is highly organized to fully prepare the patient for their physician appointment. It is a fast-paced, hands-on, detailed-oriented position, so we are looking for applicants who thrive in this type of environment and can show our patients the care and compassion they deserve.
Example duties and responsibilities include:
- Interacts professionally and compassionately with patients daily.
- Initiates patients exams and prepares patients for physician appointments.
- Performs diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Documents symptoms, complaints, medical history, medications, allergies and reactions.
- Instructs patients on proper eye care.
- Assists physicians and other health care providers in the Ophthalmology clinic.

Optician
First Light Optical is the optical dispensary branch of Medical Eye Specialists, a high volume medical and surgical practice. We have a long history of serving the Gallatin Valley and are proud to offer premiere optical services.
Job Summary:
Guide patients through the process of selecting appropriate frames and lenses depending on specific patient needs. Must also be able to work with frame vendors and labs to get jobs submitted and dispensed in an effective manner. Perform duties required for the day-to-day function of the optical including checking in and dispensing completed jobs, answering phone calls and using EMR and point-of-sale program to complete transactions.

Compensation:
- $23.50 – $28.00 per hour depending on experience and certification (ABO)
- $1000 Signing Bonus (half at the beginning of employment and half after 6-month probationary period)
- Sales Commission after a 6-month probation

Education and Experience:
- No experience is necessary, but customer service skills preferred.
- ABO certification is not necessary, but compensation will increase if obtained.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Capacity to develop a rapport with patients of all ages and demographics to facilitate the sale of eyeglasses and accessories.
- Ability to learn electronic medical record and point of sale program
Responsibilities:
- Sale and selection of ophthalmic lenses, glasses frames and accessories.
- Ability and willingness to learn fundamentals of optics, ophthalmic lenses, fitting of frames, ophthalmic lens prescriptions and sales techniques.
- Check-in and assess quality and accuracy of jobs received, including lensometry.
- Competent at frame adjustment and measurement.
- Prepare jobs that need to be sent to the lab
- Ability to accurately and timely collect payment and input information into EMR and point-of-sale program.
