Ophthalmic Technician

Medical Eye Specialists is looking for an individual who can provide high quality, accurate and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. An Ophthalmic Technician displays high proficiency in taking patient histories and is highly organized to fully prepare the patient for their physician appointment. It is a fast-paced, hands-on, detailed-oriented position, so we are looking for applicants who thrive in this type of environment and can show our patients the care and compassion they deserve.
Example duties and responsibilities include:
- Interacts professionally and compassionately with patients daily.
- Initiates patients exams and prepares patients for physician appointments.
- Performs diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Documents symptoms, complaints, medical history, medications, allergies and reactions.
- Instructs patients on proper eye care.
- Assists physicians and other health care providers in the Ophthalmology clinic.

All cases will be performed in an ambulatory surgery setting
Primary Responsibilities

Administer anesthetics to patients and monitor their care during surgery/procedure at MES Surgery Center

Attend to preoperative evaluations and postoperative care of patients at MES Surgery Center

Assist with any training of personnel under the direction of a medical officer for MES Surgery Center

Successfully manage positive patient outcomes
Qualifications

Degree awarded from a graduate nurse anesthesia program

Valid and unencumbered CRNA license

At least 12 months of experience as a registered nurse

BLS/ACLS certification

Ambulatory surgical setting experience preferred
